Bio
Eimi Tagore (she/her) is a curator and scholar with a PhD in East Asian Studies from New York University. Recent curatorial projects include Un/Weaving: Haji Oh (Alison Bradley Projects, 2024) and KANTEN 観展: The Limits of History (apexart, 2023). Recent publications include “Without Exception: The Photography of Mao Ishikawa” (Impulse Magazine, 2026) and “War Picture Postcards: Depicting Children as Vehicles of Pan-Asian Ideology” (Review of Japanese Culture and Society, 2025). Her scholarship and curatorial practice have been supported by the Japan Foundation, the Ishibashi Foundation, Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS), the Shigeko Kubota Video Art Foundation, and the PoNJA-GenKon + Asia Art Archive Wikipedia Initiative, among others. Tagore is based in San Francisco and is the Programs Manager for KOHO, a nonprofit arts and culture hub in Japantown.
