I am the President of the non-profit “Art & Tolerance”, the managing editor of the Sikh Research Journal and serve on the board of the Sikh Foundation. In the past I served as Fine Art Commissioner for the city of Cupertino. I have co-edited two definitive richly illustrated volumes: “Sikh Art from the Kapany Collection” and “Games We Play” a bilingual book in Punjabi & English. I am passionate about my work, which demonstrates the confluence of art, history, and community. Amongst my memorable projects is the first contemporary Sikh art museum exhibit in the US “Expressions of Divinity” with the Triton Museum in Santa Clara CA (2019) and I am currently a guest curator for a Sikh art show with the Fowler Museum UCLA. I enjoy collecting & working with both contemporary and historical art, focusing on works that bring visibility to marginalized narratives especially those on the basis of gender and ethnicity. I believe that social justice is a collective effort and I am eager to work with institutions and artists to increase the inclusion of South Asian artists and their works.
