Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It helped us connect, even when I felt distant from others. After moving to the US, at first I didn’t know how to read or speak English, unable to communicate with anyone but my family. Along the way of adapting, I found consolation in activities that reminded me of our commonalities instead of our differences. I embrace art as the universal language that can be used to articulate emotions when words aren’t sufficient, and then fall in love with the experience.
