My background is the insistent hum of a sewing machine in the evenings long ago as I played in the basement at my mother’s feet; the oozing color and textural joy of paint; the view of the world through a small window made big and flat; the transformation of an image on a metal plate etched by acid revealed with the darkness of ink and the lightness of fiber; the tacit harmony of working with my hands as colors and natural fibers evolve, and the fabric of a piece becomes whole. Creating art is an expression of self. soul searching. re centering. re examining. unlocking the layers of truth within. A reflected journey I sometimes share with others.
