Zen Master Rebecca Nie creates to invite the audience for mystical encounters. The inspiration for her artworks comes from her introspection, global adventures, and accomplishment in diverse disciplines. Nie studied representational artmaking with classical training since childhood and attended collegial art classes throughout her formal education. She graduated from the University of Toronto as a high distinction scholar specializing in quantum optics and mathematics and subsequently graduated from Stanford University with a Master of Science. Nie's spiritual attainment gives her art another dimension of depth: Nie is the Buddhist Chaplain at Stanford University and a Zen Master. She traces the lineage of enlightenment 80 generations back to the Buddha. For Nie, art, meditation, and algorithms are all integrated.
